Swarm intelligence is a branch of artificial intelligence that studies how collective behavior emerges from individuals making independent decisions; think of a flock of birds, where each bird responds only to its neighbors. Traditionally, this field has focused on a single swarm of robots. The MetaSwarmX Project takes this further by coordinating a swarm of swarms composed of different robot types.
